My kids love pizza! To be honest, I think my youngest son would eat pizza for every meal if I let him. Although that would make meal planning easy every week, eating pizza every night is probably not very healthy 😉
As a working mom, my weeknights are busy and dinners need to be pretty simple and quick. This quick and easy homemade pizza dough recipe is ideal for those busy weeknights when you need a simple and quick dinner. From start to finish, you can have homemade pizza on the dinner table in about 30 minutes.

Here are the ingredients that you will need:
1 package of active dry yeast
1 cup of warm water
2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons of olive oil or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
nonstick cooking spray
First, dissolve yeast in warm water in a mixing bowl. I use my KitchenAid metal mixing bowl.
Next, add the remaining ingredients and beat vigorously 20 strokes. Again, I use my KitchenAid Mixer to do all the work.
Then, let the dough rest for 5 minutes.
I cover the bowl with a towel and get the rest of my ingredients that I need for the pizza out and ready to go.
This is what the dough should look like after it has rested.
Next, divide dough in half. Spray 2 circular cookie sheets with nonstick cooking spray. Then, pat each half into an 11-inch circle on each cookie sheet. If you like a thicker pizza crust, you can pat all the dough onto a large rectangular cookie sheet. I don’t own any circular cookie sheets so I always use a large rectangular cookie sheet.
Finally, top the pizza dough with pizza sauce (marinara sauce works well too), cheese and any other toppings that your family may enjoy.
Place your oven rack in the lowest position, and cook the pizza at 425 degrees for 15 – 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
