Are the stresses of life stealing your joy? I often get caught up with what needs to be done and worrying about what didn’t get done before my day even begins. The truth is that life’s responsibilities tug at us from every direction. We seem to be busier than ever, and our “to do” lists aren’t getting any shorter. Not only are we worrying about what needs to be done, we are also worrying about the wellbeing of our family.
We are often stressed out, overwhelmed, and just plain exhausted. Our greatest desire is to get off the roller coaster of life and find some peace in the mist of it all. Believe me, I can relate.
One thing that I have come to realize is that I am tired of letting the stresses of life steal my joy and interfere with my peace. I have decided that I need to begin and end my day focusing on the blessings in my life. Blessings that bring me joy.
Keeping a gratitude journal is a great way to help you focus on the blessings and joys that you have in your life. By using a gratitude journal, I am beginning to see a change in my mindset, outlook on life, and my heart. Focusing on the blessings in your life will help you realize life is so much more than the worries and stresses we experience every day. It will also help you develop a grateful heart. Are you ready to make a change?
How to Use the Gratitude Journal
Begin every morning listing things that you are thankful for, from the roof over your head to an answered prayer. List as many blessings as you can think of. Read them over a few times to remind yourself of how blessed you truly are.

People who bring you Joy
List the people in your life that bring you joy or that you are thankful for. This is a reminder of the many people that you have in your life that love you and support you. It also serves as a reminder of people that you should be showing support, love, and kindness to.
Verse of the Day
Write a bible verse that you would like to focus on during the day. You may choose a different bible verse every day, or choose one for the week. Personally, I like to focus on one bible verse a week. This helps me memorize the bible verse and truly understand the meaning on a deeper level.
Joy of the Day
End your day with reflection. Reflect on your day and find at least one thing that brought you joy and write it down. Also, review your blessings and bible verse before going to bed. Ending your day this way, helps you refocus on the blessings in your life, not the stresses that you may have experienced during the day.
I encourage you to start a gratitude journal today. Focusing on the blessings in your life every day will bring you more peace and joy. You will still encounter the stresses and worries of life. However, you will find joy, peace, and comfort in knowing how truly blessed you are. Stresses and worries of life will come and go, but we can choose every day to have a grateful heart in any circumstance. Will you join me?
